Job Description:
S&S Builders is looking to hire an experienced carpentry superintendent. A Superintendent
supervises and coordinates the work of a crew(s) of workers and subcontractors.
Superintendents are primarily concerned with seeing that the workers under them do their job
skillfully and efficiently, and that assigned work progresses on schedule. They deal with the
routing of material and equipment, and with the laying out of the job. The work requires quick,
clear thinking and quick onsite decisions. These employees should have a broad working
knowledge of their craft; must understand the blueprints, specifications and requirements of the
project and the entity (WYDOT, City, etc.); and need to have an eye for detail. This person
directs the activities of workers by performing the following duties personally or through
subordinates. This person must have knowledge and experience in carpentry and vertical
building. Opening is a full-time position with benefits. Benefits include full medical, vision, and

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
Studies specifications and procedures for construction on basis of starting and
completion times, staffing requirements and job costing per job estimate for each
phase of construction.
Before the project begins, the employee will meet with the Estimator, Project
Manager, Safety Manager, and the Contracts Administrator to develop a working
knowledge of the job cost spread. The task will be to develop the phases into a
logical form that will best suit the development of timecards and daily quantity reports
and ensure access to data at a future date for historical information.
Schedules delivery of tools, equipment, manpower and materials to be delivered at
specified times to conform to work schedules.
Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in executing work,
interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to
prevent delays.
Confers with Field Operations Manager and employees to resolve complaints and
grievances within work force.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications
(Quality Control) and the adherence to construction schedules for our crews and
subcontractors.
Initiates, tracks and supplies reports on progress, materials used and costs, adjusts
work schedules as indicated by reports (job costing, quantities completion reports,
etc.), and maintains a detailed daily log.
Reports quantities of materials installed daily to the Project Manager and or
Contracts Administrator.
Verifies accuracy of timecards including hours worked, equipment used and that all
has been coded to the appropriate phase and that the employees have initialed
them.
Takes responsibility for safety of’ crew and the crews’ adherence to policies including
daily toolbox safety meetings and documents content.
Schedules for appropriate inspections and testing necessary for the timely
completion of the project.

· Safety minded individual. Needs to be able to come prepared for the days tasks with the proper
PPE and a safety mindset.
· Attendance and reporting to work on time are essential functions to keep the jobsite workflow on time.
· Employees are required to know the companies ’policies, rules and regulations found in the
Personnel Manual and always abide by them. These are provided and reviewed upon new
hire.
· Needs to have a basic knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.
·. Safe use of tools that may be on site. Must be willing to communicate if they aren’t familiar with a tool or piece of equipment.

· Basic knowledge and experience of siding installation with the ability to install siding
independently.
· Knowledge of blueprint reading and understanding of layouts. With some assistance from Site Super or foreman as needed.
